When it comes to sex, the elected officials in my state of California seems to take pride in defying God. From same-sex marriage to acknowledging counterfeit gender, our progressive political leaders here relish in pushing the envelope of divine morality.
As a result, they see a time-honored verse, recorded by Moses, as a challenge worthy of their legislative wrecking ball:
“So God created humankind in his own image; in the image of God he created him: male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).
A bit about this succinct sentence, which beautifully describes the beginning of the human race.
The first thing we note in this verse is that God fashioned us, “in his own image.” In doing so, He set us apart from the animal world, provided us with the keen ability to distinguish good from evil and enabled us to commune with Him.
Secondly, God created two distinct genders: male and female.
This single line has provided countless generations with a foundation that supplies a clear anthropology, an understanding of humanity, and illustrates the hard-wired differences between men and women.
But California’s radicals have been systematically rewriting the truths found in Genesis 1:27.
