John Adams was the first Vice President of the United States serving with President George Washington, from 1789 to 1797. Due to Washington’s tradition of establishing the two-term precedent, Adams became our country’s second President. He was a lawyer, devout Christian, and deep thinker who held a high regard for world history. Adams was also a bold man who became a leader of the American Revolution which led to the Revolutionary War against the world’s most powerful nation, Great Britian. The eventual hard-fought victory in that war secured America’s ground-breaking independence.

Adams became a framer of the Constitution and, once complete, wisely proclaimed, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Sadly, very few U.S. citizens under the age of forty have little knowledge of what is stated in this article’s opening paragraphs.

That’s why I can’t help but believe without the mighty hand of God’s intervention our nation is doomed to embrace socialism.

You see, America’s Founders were convinced that government ought to support the morality and virtue revealed in the laws of nature and of nature’s God and articulated in the words of the Bible. It is from these which they derived our natural rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; originally implying the ownership of private property. The government of the United States, the Founders believed, ought not to be hostile to Christianity, but rather should support it with laws that are friendly to it and encourage its flourishing among the citizenry

For example, in Washington’s Farewell Address he advised, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them.”

Look how far we our Christian nation has drifted from Washington’s sagacious advice. We now have politicians and political activists pushing a secular agenda that outright defies foundational Biblical principles. Abortion on demand, the LGBTQ-RSTUVWXYZ agenda, a welfare system that rewards birthing children out of wedlock, and observance of Islamic holidays are just a few of the obvious examples.

But the bigger illustrations involve a multitude on the left who are fervently attempting to employ a form of government (socialism and communism) that has utterly failed everywhere it has been employed.

And no, socialism and its cousin, communism, are not forms of democracy!

SOCIALISM IS NOT DEMOCRACY

In 2019, Charles Cook, the editor of National Review, was on my radio show and gave a blunt assessment that socialism is not and never can be “democratic.” Cooke said that voters should not be fooled by the left’s attempt at rebranding a horrendously failed doctrine. “Socialism cannot be made compatible with democracy,” he insisted. “At worst, socialism eats democracy and is swiftly transmuted into tyranny. At best, socialism stamps out individual agency, places civil society into a straitjacket of uniform size, and turns representative government into a chimera.”

Cooke went on to quote from an essay he presented at National Review. After studying 6,000 years of history, he said the lessons learned shout to us.  “Never relinquish the right to free speech, the right to free conscience, the right to freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, or the right to a jury trial. Whatever you do, don’t be seduced by socialists bearing promises. But if you are seduced, get out before it’s too late. You have nothing to lose but your chains.”

In my most recent book, Climate Cult, I reveal the nexus between socialism and the environmental movement. I touch on the evil initiator of socialist terror, tyranny, and violence: Vladimir Lenin. It was Lenin who exhorted his followers to exert “merciless mass terror” against their opposition, not just to accumulate political power but in pursuit of a sacred mission—a socialist world. Later, when farmers in the Soviet Union resisted the government, Lenin’s successor, Josef Stalin, engineered a famine in which as many 10 million starved to death.

Though the left drools with phony compassion, this is how their sacred socialist doctrine treats its enemies.

In the later stages of Soviet communism a woman would sell herself for a pair of western blue jeans. In Venezuela today, despite being a country with vast oil reserves, their socialist economy is a wreck and people exchange family heirlooms for a bit of food.

Observing the forty-plus nations that suffered under socialism, the record of failure is crystal clear: Socialism is not compatible with the U.S. Constitution. It promises benefits that never make ANYONE equal. The economy produced by socialism always results in environmental degradation, mass shortages, and poor health care.

THE 2020 & 2026 MIDTERM ELECTIONS: A GLIMPSE OF WHAT’S AHEAD

Nonetheless even as Mother History shouts her warnings, the threat of a Socialist America looms. The 2020 elections were a harbinger, with the big winners being dyed in the wool members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). This is an organization that seeks to dismantle our Constitution and instead employ the poison philosophy of Karl Marx.

In New York, Representative and DSA member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did not just turn back her well-known Latina challenger, CNBC anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, she crushed her, winning 75 percent of the vote. Another DSA member, Representative Rashida Tlaib easily defeated Detroit City Council president Brenda Jones, 66.3 percent to 33.7 percent. Still another, Ilhan Omar won her Minnesota primary against a well-funded Antone Melton-Meaux with 57.4 percent.

In each case, the socialists defeated otherwise liberal Democrats who were attractive, organized, and had plenty of money. It didn’t matter—an overwhelming majority of Democratic primary voters endorsed the OAC-Tlaib-Omar vision of a socialist America, including the asinine multitrillion-dollar Green New Deal.

Three other senior Democrats in the House of Representatives lost their seats to DSA candidates. Representative Lacy Clay of Missouri, a 20-year incumbent, lost to Cori Bush, a champion of the Black Lives Matter movement. Representative Eliot Engel of New York, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was defeated by progressive school principal Jamaal Bowman. Representative Dan Lipinski of Illinois, one of the very few pro-life Democrats in Congress, lost to leftist challenger Marie Newman.

In New York, five statewide candidates for the General Assembly who had been endorsed by DSA all won their primaries. Several had come-from-behind victories because of absentee ballots—a key socialist initiative to insure a rigged election. They ran on platforms that included the Green New Deal, single-payer health care, criminal justice reform, housing for New York State’s 70,000 homeless, affordable housing for the poor, and new taxes on the rich and Wall Street to pay for all of it. Their goal, as set forth in campaign literature, is to “advance a vision for a socialist world.”

Socialists found receptive voters across the country. Even in Montana, six “Berniecrats,” won their primaries. San Francisco elected DSA member Chesa Boudin, son of the leftist militants, its district attorney. In the California primary, exit polls revealed that 53 percent of Democrats viewed socialism “favorably.” In Texas, Democratic voters in the primary approved of socialism by 56 percent, a 20-point margin over capitalism.

Socialism is indeed riding a wave of momentum when more Texans than Californians view it favorably.

And then there is DSA member Senator Bernie Sanders, who raised more money than any other candidate in 2020 (an estimated $200 million) and won the Iowa caucuses and the primaries in New Hampshire and Nevada. However, he was unable to overcome the deep pockets of the Democratic establishment, which is clearly seeing it’s last days of influence. Just mention the name of longtime Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi to the younger generation of liberals and you’ll be met with an eyeroll.

And the recent midterms? They brought us a Democrat dumbass Congressional candidate in Maine with a Nazi tattoo, a fake Christian running for Governor in Texas as a Democrat who contends there are six genders, and another Governor candidate in Wisconsin who wants to abolish the police.

And that’s just the rotten low hanging fruit.

SLOGANS AND CODDLED KIDS

Socialists need class-struggle issues that focus on presenting capitalism and Christianity as dangerous, hence the slogans:

“Tax the rich!”
“Abolish ICE!”
“Defund the police!”
“Save the planet!”
“My body, my choice!”
“Be proud, be gay!”

How is this failed political theory advancing so steadily? In large measure because of four things: the ignorance of history, the new monoculture, government bungling and coddled kids.

The ignorance of history is the obvious result of a public education system that has been overrun with progressive teachers and administrators that push a pro-socialist agenda, not just in history classes, but across all subject content. Sadly, most private institutions are also guilty (including many so-called Christian schools). The resulting groupthink lends itself to a successful indoctrination program that pushes socialism, environmentalism, transgenderism, big government and anti-Israel/pro-Islam antisemitism.

Meantime, big-government policies (mostly created by Democrat leadership) that interfere with the economy and overspend taxpayer dollars put a bad taste in the mouths of younger voters who conclude the current form of government is broken and needs to be replaced with one that takes from the rich and gives to the poor.

As for the coddled kids, overprotective helicopter parenting and lavishing children with uncritical self-esteem have brought us teenagers and young adults who were raised without the critical life skills of learning how to work through anxiety, bad news and life’s daily challenges. Because Millennial parents want to be best friends with their kids instead of performing their proper leadership role, they do not set limits on their child’s social media. And because too many because young adults are unable to bridle their addiction to their phones we now have a generation who demand safe spaces where they can sustain their pathetic attention spans which, according to Dr. John Lennox, is about eight seconds.

A goldfish can do nine.

I was brought up in a household that loathed socialism/communism. My grandfather escaped the Soviet pogroms in the early Nineteen hundreds only because his parents scrapped together funds to send him to the United States with this admonition: “Go to America, get a job, make money, send for your brother.”

David Sussman did that.

He was only thirteen years of age.

Daily, I thank God that he did it.

And I pray to God daily for the United States of America.
