Free Palestine?

Do the young socialists in America ever wonder why millions of “Palestinians” are living in miserable refugee camps located in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, North Africa (and nearly every Middle Eastern country)?

The camps began in 1948 to accommodate Arabs who fled Israel after it was re-founded. There were about 400,000 then, now there are 5-million. This photo of the Shatila camp in Lebanon illustrates 12-thousand people packed into one square kilometer.

No one on the left will dare ask this important question: Why won’t these Arab nations allow their Palestinian brothers and sisters to assimilate into the various Arab/Muslim countries? It’s been nearly EIGHTY YEARS. Why do they tolerate their Arab kin living in horrid conditions? Many of these Arab nations are quite wealthy. Why won’t they at least construct decent public housing for these “refugees?”

The answer is obvious. These Palestinian people are being used as wretched propaganda pawns to gin up hatred for Israel and Jewish people at large.

And it’s working.

Free Palestine?

Sure, allow these people to be free to live amongst those with a common lineage, culture, and religion.

But again, it’s been nearly 80-years. So don’t hold your breath.

Bill Gates and His Climate Change About-Face

Tech billionaire Bill Gates has altered the discourse of climate politics by publishing a lengthy memo calling for a rethink on his pet issue, climate change. Gates refers to his latest actions as setting the stage for a “strategic pivot” in climate strategy.

This pivot is being described by the left as an about-face, reversal, or even a retraction. Many are confused and angry over his new revelation. In my mind, Gates’ memo is the closest we will come to hearing him confess there is no such thing as anthropogenic climate change. He actually did something slightly similar some years ago when he and his influencer buddies swapped the term “global warming” for the all-encompassing handle, “climate change.” Back then, liberal environmentalists were panicked by facts that were too obvious to ignore; namely, the earth’s atmospheric temperature was maintaining itself within historical norms as described in my bestseller, Climategate: A Veteran Meteorologist Exposes the Global Warming Scam (2010).

So, “climate change” became the title to scare the world’s idiots into submission.

Bill’s long-winded missive begins with a befuddling claim: “Although climate change will have serious consequences—particularly for people in the poorest countries—it will not lead to humanity’s demise. People will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future.”

See what I mean? “Climate change…will not lead to humanity’s demise.” This is a far cry from the cataclysmic predictions Bill and friends made back in the day regarding global warming bringing an end to humanity. Clearly, the important books written by me and others—blasting holes into their pet theory of human-caused global warming/climate change—have proven to be more convincing than the left will ever admit.

So now, instead of spending gazillions to supposedly straighten an out-of-control atmosphere, Gates contends more money must be spent to improve living conditions for the world’s poorest. No doubt Gates is all for New York’s Mamdani who was elected Mayor of New York with a similar theme. As for we conservatives, we know the best way to help the down and out is by first exposing the very real dangers imposed by communism, socialism, democratic socialism and tyrannical governments.

In his new plan, Gates highlights what he refers to as three “Truths.” The first is, “Climate change is a serious problem, but it will not be the end of civilization.” Very likely, this was the statement causing President Trump to respond to Bill’s memo with a post on Truth Social exclaiming, “I (WE!) just won the War on the Climate Change Hoax. Bill Gates has finally admitted that he was completely WRONG on the issue.”

Indeed, given a myriad of past gloom and doom statements by Gates, including his 2021 book entitled, How to Avoid a Climate Disaster, this new “truth” seems to indicate even Billy silently concedes that just a few years ago he was full of hot air.

Gates’ second so-called truth states, “Temperature is not the best way to measure our progress on climate.” What a hilarious copout. Obviously, Mr. Microsoft has finally realized he can run but can’t hide from the fact that global temperature has not altered out of its age-old rhythm.

The third claims, “Health and prosperity are the best defense against climate change.” Certainly, health and prosperity are incredibly important issues, but the best defense against climate change?  That’s another nuanced allegation by a guy who refuses to just come out and admit he’s lost a major battle in his efforts to scare the masses into submission. Health and prosperity are the fruits of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in a republic that is by, of and for its citizens.

No doubt Gates published his memo to coincide with the United Nations climate confab, “COP30,” held in Brazil with 50,000 hypocrites from over 190 countries flying in on fossil fueled jets, staying in air-conditioned luxury hotels, and drinking lots of booze (which requires fossil fuels for distillation) as they bloviated about their communist green agenda and other one-world machinations.

Thank you, President Trump, for wisely keeping the U.S. from participating with the blowhards in Brazil.

Faith of Our Founders

The following is an excerpt from my book, “Eco-Tyranny: How the Left’s Green Agenda Will Dismantle America” (2012, WND Books).  I’ve also shared this story in Episode 40 of my Brian Sussman Show Podcast (July 4, 2019).

Francis Lewis was born in Wales in 1713.  He was orphaned at the age of five and raised by relatives. After a college education in London, he became a business apprentice and earnestly saved his money.  At the age of 21, he set sail for New York where he established an importing business.

In 1756, during the French and Indian War, Lewis was a special aid to the British forces, supplying them with uniforms and other critical supplies.  He was on business at Fort Oswego, when a bloody battle broke out against the French aggressors.  Lewis was taken prisoner and sent to France aboard a ship, cruelly housed in a wooden box.  Upon his release at the close of the war, Lewis was rewarded for his service to the crown with 5,000 acres of land in New York.

Again, while one might think that such a man would be forever loyal to Great Britain, such was not the case for Lewis.  He saw how the edicts from England were strangling freedom in the colonies, and, according to Lossing, Lewis held dearly to “his republican views.”

Lewis’ wife Elizabeth was also a devout patriot and fervently supported her husband when he was elected a delegate to the General Congress in 1775 and signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia the following year.  Once the Declaration was signed, the British placed a price upon the head of Francis Lewis.  Before he was able to reach his home on Long Island, ground troops and a warship were sent to seize his wife and destroy his property.  Elizabeth watched from a balcony as a cannon ball crashed into a wall immediately next to her.  Immediately a servant shouted, “Run, Mistress, run!”[1]

Mrs. Lewis calmly replied, “Another shot is not likely to strike the same spot,” and she did not budge.

The soldiers soon entered the home and destroyed all books, papers, and ruthlessly pillaged the entire property.  Elizabeth Lewis was taken to New York and thrown into prison.  She was not allowed a bed or a change of clothing, and given little to eat.  A former family African servant discovered her location and was able to smuggle some small articles of clothing and some food to her.  He also reported her whereabouts and condition to Congress.  Demands were made for her better treatment, but the British were determined to make an example of Mrs. Lewis’ prominence and wealth.

Finally, General Washington was able to broker a prisoner exchange, and Elizabeth was able to join her husband in Philadelphia. However, it was plain to everyone that because of her mistreatment, she was broken in health and was slowly sinking into the grave.  Francis Lewis soon asked for a leave of absence from Congress to devote his whole time to his wife.  She died in 1779.

Grief-stricken, Lewis retired from Congress to live with his sons.  This great patriot died in 1802 at the age of 89 in New York City.  He was buried in an unmarked grave in the yard of Trinity Church.

Earth Day: The Real Story

On April 22, 1970, a trio of radical dreamers established the first Earth Day, an annual event designed to assault capitalism, free-markets and mankind.

The initial concept was conceived by Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-WS).  Nelson was Congress’ leading environmentalist activist, a sort of preincarnate Senator Barbara Boxer in drag.  He was also the mastermind behind those ridiculous teach-ins which were vogue in the Sixties and early Seventies.  During the teach-ins, mutinous school instructors would scrap the day’s assigned curriculum, pressure their students to sit cross-legged on the floor, and “rap” about how America was an imperialist nation, and converse about why communism really wasn’t such a bad form of government—it just needed to be implemented properly.

Nelson’s teach-in efforts were aided by a young man named Denis Hayes.  Hayes was student body president while at Stanford, and well known for organizing anti-Vietnam war protests.  Hayes heard about Senator Nelson’s teach-in concept and eventually helped Nelson institute the practice nationwide.

Rounding out the troika was Professor Paul Ehrlich of Stanford.  In 1968 Ehrlich authored the Malthusian missive, The Population Bomb, in which he infamously spouted wild allegations which included equating the earth’s supposed surplus of people with a cancer that needs to be eradicated:  “A cancer is an uncontrolled multiplication of cells; the population explosion is an uncontrolled multiplication of people…We must shift our efforts from treatment of the symptoms to the cutting out of the cancer.  The operation will demand many apparently brutal and heartless decisions,” he wrote.

In 1969, following a much-hyped oil spill off the Santa Barbara coast, an overblown patch of fire on Cleveland’s Cuyahoga River, and the drug-induced vibes cast across the nation via the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, Senator Nelson met with Ehrlich and reportedly said, “My God—why not a national teach-in on the environment?”  Hayes was brought in to play a pivotal role with organization and implementation.  After careful consideration a name and date for the event were chosen:  the inaugural Earth Day would be celebrated April 22, 1970—Russian dictator Vladimir Lenin’s Centennial.

Environmentalists have always admired Lenin.  He was the first disciple of Karl Marx to capture control of a country, and the opening act of his seven-year reign commenced with the abolition of all private property—a Marxist priority.  Despite overseeing a bloody civil war, a devastated economy and a citizenry without hope, Lenin made it a priority to implement his signature decree, “On Land.”  In it he declared that all forests, waters, and minerals to be the exclusive property of the state, and he demanded these resources be protected from use by the public and private enterprise.  Selling timber or firewood, mining minerals, or diverting water for farming was strictly prohibited.

While Nelson and Ehrlich were already known as non-traditional crackpots, Hayes was that and more.  In a New York Times article published the morning after the first Earth Day headlined, “Angry Coordinator of Earth Day,” young Hayes bragged that five years earlier he fled overseas because “I had to get away from America.”  Hayes was so committed to his anti-capitalist cause that he made sure his organization did not even produce Earth Day bumper stickers, “You want to know why?” he explained to the Times, because “they go on automobiles.”

Earth Day has never been a celebration of the beauty and bounty of this awesome terrestrial ball.  Instead it’s always been an assault on man.   During the first decade of Earth Day observances people were proclaimed the polluter.  By the Eighties the event’s organizers cast mankind as the tree killer, and, with the Nineties, humans evolved into the animal species annihilator.  The global warming scare never really became popular until the late Nineties, and when it did, it provided compatriots at the Earth Day headquarters with the ultimate hook to hang their red berets: humans, particularly Americans, were now screwing up the entire planet’s climate.

Rather then join in the Marxist falderal designed to hammer the American way, let’s give thanks to God for our nation’s abundant resources and the absolute natural beauty of this planet on which we live; and  let us strive as a people to return to the natural laws of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (property ownership) that made this nation unique.

Not a Natural Disaster: The Los Angeles Fires

Both the Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, and the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, are blaming the horrific fires in Southern California human-induced climate change. This is a bogus mantra designed to cover for the gross dereliction of duty employed by a myriad of elected officials at all levels of government in the Golden State.

As mentioned in my last post, the incredibly high winds experienced in Southern California were accurately forecast by the National Weather Service several days before they began. These winds are seasonal, blowing east to west, down the slopes of the nearby mountain ranges and towards the Pacific. As the winds rush down the mountainside, they manifest warm and extremely dry air. This is NOT a feature of so-called climate change. It’s a weather condition that has been around forever.

At this point in time, the only suspected and known cause for these fires is arson.

Now, let me diverge for a moment and speak to a subject I wrote about in my 2012 bestseller, Eco-Tyranny (WND Books).

In 2005, the FBI stated that America’s number one domestic terror threat was eco-terrorism. At that time the concern was focused on two radical environmental organizations, Earth Liberation Front and EarthFirst. Why should we think that such terror concerns would have evaporated since 2005?

In large measure, the leadership of these eco-radical orgs has been able to curry favor with liberal elected leaders and bureaucrats to see their goals accomplished within the construct of government. This is all easily accomplished through the doctrine of Sustainable Development.

Created by the United Nations in the 1983, Sustainable Development requires, as Al Gore has stated, “a wrenching transformation of society.” It seeks the near elimination of fossil fuels, the shuttering of all nuclear power plants, the tearing down of dams (they are declared “unnatural”), and—perhaps more germane to the situation in Los Angeles—moving the population from single family residential housing to stack-and-pack complexes in “Fifteen Minute Cities.”

Driving this Sustainable mentality is something also created by the UN: Social Equity.

Social Equity is not DEI. It declares that all species are equal. In other words, humans are no more important than termites. This is one of the reasons why farmers in the California’s Central Valley (one of the richest agricultural valleys in the world) can no longer get the water they need from the Sacramento-San Joaquin delta. The environmentalists claim that using the water for crops endangers a 3-inch-long fish known as the Delta Smelt. Thousands of acres of farms have gone to weeds as a result of the delta water pouring out to sea.

Social equity also accused the homes on the Malibu coast of endangering the nests of the California Least Tern.

Also, I discovered this from a friend who is a municipal water consultant in California regarding that empty reservoir in Pacific Palisades that was supposed to be under repair: normally such maintenance takes thirty or fewer days. Instead, this critical reservoir had been bone-dry for the past TEN months. Perhaps Sustainable Development is why the elected officials and desk-jockeys in LA County decided it wasn’t a critical piece of infrastructure?

California is the wealthiest state in the nation. It possesses the highest overall tax base. It has the most restrictive environmental rules and regulations. It’s also a one-party state dominated by elected officials who have more in common with Marx than Madison.

You can blame this entire disaster on authoritarian office holders and monolithic public officials, all of whom are overpaid and promised a hefty pension to boot.

And, perhaps the arsonists are radical environmentalists.
