California Abortion

California: Reproductive Rights or Child Sacrifice?

By the way, the billboard is not fake news.  Hopefully you now understand the challenging title of this article.

Even though the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe – Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization – reversed the so-called “right to privacy” that legalized the right to take a baby’s life in the womb, California was undeterred. The state’s overwhelmingly ultra-liberal legislature baked in laws allowing the abortions to continue. The state also insured its future role as an abortion destination (or “refuge” as they are fond of saying) for women to come from states where taking the life of a newly developing baby had been severely restricted.

Governor Gavin Newsom declared California a “Reproductive Freedom State” by proclamation in 2019. At that time, the Dobbs case was on its legal journey from Mississippi to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Since October, according to the Guttmacher Institute, some 66 abortion centers in 16 states have been closed.

When abortion providers like Planned Parenthood saw that Roe could be in trouble they started preparing for what they predicted would be a wave of people coming to California once abortion was made illegal in their states. Sadly, their predictions were correct.  The number of women coming from out-of-state to have abortions in Orange and San Bernardino counties in southern California increased threefold. The Planned Parenthood office serving the region is proud to note they have added nine new rooms where the “procedure” can be performed (“State’s Abortion Demand Surges,” San Jose Mercury News, January 1, 2023).

New Abortion Laws for 2023

But California is not satisfied with its status as a destination for terminating a pregnancy via the death of the innocent. As we enter the new year a slate of pro-abortion legislation will take effect, further insuring California as a beacon of access:

 – Proposition 1 enshrines the right to choose in the California Constitution.

– Murder no more.  A measure authored by Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks, D-Oakland, AB 2223, also known as the “Infanticide Bill,” formally bans prosecution for failed and terminated pregnancies. In other words, botched abortionists can go free, no questions asked. Under previous law, coroners were required to investigate and register fetal deaths after 20 weeks, unless they are the result of a legal abortion. AB 2223 bars such investigations and any subsequent prosecution.

 – No MD required.  Now almost anyone can perform an abortion. Nurse practitioners, nurses, and midwives will be able to provide abortions without loss or suspension of their license under AB 2626, written by Assemblywoman Lisa Calderon, D-Whittier. The bill also prohibits professional boards from suspending or revoking licenses of providers who provide abortion care outside the state.

 – Recruitment into cult.  AB 1918 by Assemblymember Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach) creates the CA Reproductive Health Scholarship Corps to recruit, train and retain a diverse workforce of health care professionals who will provide reproductive health services in underserved areas of the state.

 – Taxpayer financed abortions.  AB 2134 by Assemblymember Dr. Akilah Weber (D-San Diego) establishes the CA Reproductive Health Equity Program which will provide grants to providers who provide uncompensated care to patients with low-incomes and those who face other financial barriers.

Child Sacrifice?

All of these new laws have now created the most dangerous place in California: a mother’s womb. Abortion has become glorified by the ungodly maniacs who have produced these wicked laws. It’s a new twist on an ancient pagan practice: child sacrifice.

The horrific ritual of child sacrifice has been committed throughout the world for thousands of years. Generally, the sacrifice of a child was intertwined with the worship of a pagan deity, often a fertility god. Worshipers sought to obtain a blessing from their god(s) or to confirm or complete a vow taken in the name of the god.

Today it’s the fertility goddess of  “Reproductive Rights.” Worshippers are the pregnant women who have been brainwashed to believe sexual proclivity that leads to pregnancy can be honorably absolved through blessing of abortion.

One would think that California, in its  infinite effort to be so compassionate, would offer of free lifetime counseling and psychological therapy for the formerly pregnant women who have been traumatized by the gruesome procedure of abortion. But no, that will never happen. These women, like the babies who never made it out of the womb, are pawns of the goddesses.

California’s Proposition 1: Abortion Through Nine Months

California. The state of my birth. It’s where my wife (also a native born Californian) and I were married. Our four children were all born in California. Most of my TV career and all of my radio career were accomplished in California.

In terms of geography, California is arguably the most beautiful state in the Union. The 840 mile coastline is jaw-dropping. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are wondrous. The weather provides variety unsurpassed in any state.

However, leftist politicians, who essentially run the state unopposed, have unleashed pure evil in the form of a Ballot measure to be voted on  in November.

Proposition 1.

As you are aware, back in June, the Supreme Court issued its opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade and returned the issue of abortion to the states. The California state legislature then voted by greater-than-two-thirds majorities in both of its houses to place a constitutional amendment on the state’s November ballot.

Proposition 1, as it is called, states the following: “The state shall not deny or interfere with an individual’s reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions, which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an abortion and their fundamental right to choose or refuse contraceptives. This section is intended to further the constitutional right to privacy guaranteed by Section 1, and the constitutional right to not be denied equal protection guaranteed by Section 7. Nothing herein narrows or limits the right to privacy or equal protection.”

Nor does anything in the language of this proposed constitutional amendment limit abortion itself. It does not include, for example, an age limit on when an unborn child can be terminated. It states instead, as noted, that the “state shall not deny or interfere with an individual’s reproductive freedom … which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an abortion.”

In other words, this is abortion through 9-months.

The atheist communists who run the legislature tried something even worse earlier this year, which included killing a baby outside of the womb. I wrote about it, and lots of people did not believe what I was saying was true.  It was true!

That horrid plan, in my opinion, will be their next goal.

Is it any wonder I’m now a resident of another state?

Another Gruesome Abortion Bill Moving Forward in California

Earlier this week, pro-life leaders testified in the California Senate against a bill that would require all public universities in California to provide abortion pills to its students, for free.

The proposed law would mandate that California public universities provide students with RU-486, a drug used in first trimester abortions.  The drug works by blocking a hormone called progesterone that ensures the mother’s uterus thickens and allows a newly-created human to develop. Without that hormone, the uterine lining is shed and the human being subsequently dies.

This is why some call this gruesome drug, “The Toilet Seat Abortion Pill.”

The California Senate Education Committee held a hearing where advocates and critics of the bill were able to testify in favor of or against it.  At that hearing, Students for Life of America, a major campus pro-life organization, called upon California legislators to vote against the proposed law.

Kristan Hawkins, the President of Students for Life of America, flew to Sacramento to testify against the bill.  In her testimony, Hawkins cited a recent FDA report stating that in the past 20 years, 24 women have died from the abortion procedure this bill would force public universities to provide.

“Are California’s schools prepared to handle the repercussions of students experiencing possibly life-ending bleeding and infections, caused by the abortion pills the school is providing?” Hawkins asked during the hearing.

Hawkins also noted that SB-24 could pose an issue for the conscience rights of students and university employees.

“Given that the both UC and CSU health programs are funded through student fees, it is not just possible but likely students will ultimately be paying for their classmates’ abortions. Further, no provision has been made in the proposal to protect the conscience rights of students or health center personnel, who don’t want to fund or support toilet seat abortions, ending human life on college and university campuses,” she said.

Both chambers of the California state legislature passed a bill nearly identical to SB-24 last year, but Gov. Jerry Brown surprisingly vetoed it. Brown stated the bill was “not necessary” because most universities are located near abortion clinics.  California Democrats are hedging their bets that newly elected Gov. Newsom will sign the revived bill into law.

The Democrats have strong majorities in both chambers of the state legislature, likely guaranteeing that the bill will end up on Newsom’s desk.
