Indiana AG stands up for the dignity of the unborn

Indiana pro-abortion advocates are calling on Republican Attorney General Curtis Hill to back off from a state abortion law that would place limits on abortions in certain circumstances.

Calls for Hill to end his defense of the state’s abortion law come in reaction to his Monday request for the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a block on a 2016 law passed by then-Governor Mike Pence. The law requires abortion clinics and facilities that provide abortions to bury or cremate aborted babies rather than dispose of them as medical waste.

“Nothing in the Constitution prohibits states from requiring health facilities to provide an element of basic human dignity in disposing of fetuses,” Hill said in a statement, The Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.

“It’s disappointing that the state of Indiana continues to defend these unconstitutional and medically unnecessary abortion restrictions,” Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky(PPINK) President Christie Gillespie said in a statement, according to the Tribune. “By appealing to the Supreme Court, the state of Indiana is trying to not only chip away at Hoosiers’ rights, but also threaten the rights of people seeking safe and legal abortion care across the country,” she added.

Hill also asked the court to review a portion of the law that makes it illegal for doctors to perform abortions “based solely on the race, sex or disability of the child,” the Tribune reported. “The right to abortion declared by our Supreme Court protects only the decision not to bear a child at all, not a right to decide which child to bear,” Hill said.

Trump Administration Considers Defining Gender as Designated at Birth

President Donald Trump’s administration is considering defining gender as a static, unchangeable, biological fact that is designated at birth and can never be altered.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking to create a legal definition of sex under Title IX, a federal civil rights law the deals with education, The New York Times reported Sunday after obtaining a memo from the administration.

HHS will define gender as determined “on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable,” according to the memo.. The definition would define gender as either female or male, according to the person’s genitalia at birth. Discrepancies would be determined by genetic testing, the memo indicates.

“Sex means a person’s status as male or female based on immutable biological traits identifiable by or before birth,” the memo reads. “The sex listed on a person’s birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person’s sex unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence.

Former President Barack Obama instituted policies that wrongly allowed “sex” to include homosexuality and gender identities, which paved the way for individuals to choose their gender.

“Courts and the previous administration took advantage of this circumstance to include gender identity and sexual orientation in a multitude of agencies, and under a multitude of laws … [leading] to confusion and negative policy consequences in health care, education and other federal contexts,” the memo reads.

HHS will present the new definition of gender to the Department of Justice by January 2019, according to Trump administration officials.

The new policy would affect the status of transgenders serving in the military as well as transgender students. Since Obama loosened the definition of Title IX, divisive battles have been fought over which bathroom students can use in school as well as what sports teams they can play on. Companies have adopted plans covering the cost of therapies and surgeries for transgender and transitioning employees. Some states have mandated that insurance companies pay for sex-change operations and other cosmetic procedures.

Chick-fil-a employee walks the talk

COLUMBUS, Ga. — An employee at a Georgia Chick-fil-A is giving the glory back to God after he recently gave a homeless man his shoes.

Levi Jones, 18, who works at the Columbus location, told local television station WBRL that he saw the man, named Walter, sitting under a tree in front of the restaurant and felt led by God to talk him.

“I asked him how he was doing, [and] if I can get him any food,” Jones outlined. “And I noticed he didn’t have on any shoes on his feet.”

After bringing the man some food, Jones felt led of God to give Walter his shoes. However, he wondered whether or not the shoes would even fit. Jones said that he believed God sent Walter there for a reason, so he took his own shoes off his feet and gave them to the man. It turned out that they wore the same size.

Jones then walked back into the restaurant without any shoes. His manager gave him a spare pair for the day, but they were four sizes too big. He didn’t complain.

“I love Jesus and as His son, I’m called to live and walk just like Jesus did on the earth,” Jones stated. “Jesus hung around homeless people. He took care of people, loved on people, [and] blessed people wherever He went. And so I just wanna walk as … Jesus Christ walked and live that out every single day of my life.”

I’m for #MeToo–in the womb!

I just read a story in Eternity News about the Parliament in Queensland, Australia (the country’s third most populous state)  debating an abortion bill that would allow a woman to terminate her healthy foetus, right up to the time of birth, when two doctors have “considered” the woman’s “current and future physical, psychological and social circumstances.”

For some, this could translate into gender selection.  One would think in this day of #MeToo non-discrimination would extend to the womb.

The reasoning is odd.

The headline of a recent article in The Age read “The ‘missing girls’ never born in Victoria”. The article was based on research from Melbourne’s La Trobe University which comprised a study of more than one million births in that state.  Their conclusion was that some parents could be engaged in the ultimate act of gender bias – aborting unborn female babies simply because they are female.  Researchers stated that their studied indicates “systematic discrimination against females starts in the womb.”

In other words, pregnant women would be aborting baby girls.  Is the implication that it’s the birth-fathers who are forcing the women to engage in pre-birth sex-selection?

It is normally expected that for every 100 girls born, about 105 boys will be brought into the world. Within some key migrant communities in Australia (such as mothers of Indian or Chinese origin), sons are being born at rates of 122 and 125 for every 100 daughters in later pregnancies.  Abortion is suspected as the key to these ratios.

All this said, the Queensland Government refused to include any restrictions, even regarding sex-selection, in their Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2018 which will be voted on soon.

Until a pregnancy reaches 22-weeks, there will be no questions asked as to why a young woman is feeling the need to abort.  After 22-weeks, abortion is still permissible for social reasons, which no doubt could include the desire for a certain gender.

Just like the Creator, I’m for life.  It begins in the womb at the moment of conception and there should be no discrimination by humankind.

#MeToo Snubs Snow White, Cinderella, Little Mermaid

Actress Kristen Bell warns her daughters against some of the wrong messages she believes ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ gives out to young children.

The ‘Frozen’ star – who voiced Princess Anna of Arendelle in the Disney movie – reads the fairytale to her two girls, Lincoln, five, and Delta, three, often, but Kristen makes sure to explain to her daughters the problems she has with the story about a jealous queen who gets a stranger to give Snow White a poisoned apple so she falls asleep and can only be woken by a kiss from a prince.

When she’s finished reading, Kristen always drums into them that they should never speak to or take food from a stranger or kiss anyone without asking them whilst they are asleep.

She told Parents magazine: “Don’t you think it’s weird that Snow White didn’t ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got that apple?” She continued: “Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission? Because you can not kiss someone if they’re sleeping!”

Bell follows in the footsteps of British actress Keira Knightley in airing her views on the impact some of the Disney stories can have on their kids.

The ‘Love Actually’ star has gone as far as banning her daughter from watching Disney princess movies altogether, because of the negative stereotypes toward women.

The 33-year-old actress has three-year-old daughter with her husband and has revealed movies including ‘Cinderella’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ have been banned in their household because of the way they suggest women are nothing without their Prince Charming’s.

Keira said: “‘Cinderella’, is banned because she waits around for a rich guy to rescue her. Don’t. Rescue yourself, obviously. And this is the one that I’m quite annoyed about because I really like the film, but … ‘Little Mermaid’. I mean, the songs are great, but do not give your voice up for a man. Hello!”
